The EPA suppresses a report that shows there is no global warming……………..

June 30th, 2009 . by joel

Why am I not surprised?  Global climate change is complete nonsense and a hoax perpetrated by those who want to merely control everything you do, and the EPA suppresses a 98 page report from one of their own documenting exactly that.  How odd?  I’m sure the President didn’t know about this, you think?

And while this is going on at the EPA, the Democrats in Congress and the President want to pass energy legislation that will represent the single biggest tax increase in the history of the world, and exactly for what purpose?  What will that bill actually resolve?  And at what cost?

Every single thing you do will be taxed by this energy tax:  everything you buy, all the energy you use, all the food you eat, all your heating and air conditioning, even the paper you use to wipe your ass….all of it will be taxed.  And when the “smart grid” becomes a reality the government will be able to watch your electricity usage and shut you down if you use “too much.”  And that’s just the beginning.

Our country is changing, people.  Am I wrong?

If you own a home, or want to buy or sell a home, either now or in the future, you better read this………….

June 30th, 2009 . by joel

Just in case you were too busy to be paying attention to the big story from last Friday, and it wasn’t Michael Jackson, the democrats in the House passed Barack Obama’s energy bill.  And quite the bill it is.

Among the more immediate concerns is one detail that would affect anyone owning a home, the single most valuable and important thing owned by most people.  If and when you go to sell that home the owners would have to have a government bureaucrat come and perform an energy efficiency audit.  If the windows and doors are found to be less than efficient, they would need to be replaced or repaired at the owners expense before the house could be sold.  Same for all appliances, air conditioning and heating units, weather stripping, plumbing and on and on.  All before the house could be sold.  This would obviously have a detrimental effect on the selling price, eventual purchase price and time frame involved among other concerns.  In addition, who could rule out the threat of bribery or extortion by government bureaucrats.  This is very bad.

My suggestion is you read this in it’s entirety because it’s going to cost you big time to buy a home or sell a home, plus the fact that it represents a completely dangerous step toward controlling you as well as the economy and changing our standard of living downward.  You’ll like that for your children and grandchildren, right?

You can send your thank you note directly to the President and his Democratic minions in Congress for tampering with the value of the home market, which if I recall is supposed to be the lynchpin to successfully bringing us out of the recession, no?  Well, apparently, screw that!.

And maybe someone can tell me exactly what the purpose of this energy bill is and why we want this?

By the way, the points itemized in the link below are facts taken directly out of the bill.  This isn’t some recalcitrant spin, so ignore this at your risk.

Nationalizing Health Care – The letter below is in response to the Baltimore Sun editorial of June 26th.

June 27th, 2009 . by joel

Dear Baltimore Sun Editor:

In reference to your commentary “Under the influence”, it’s interesting how the Baltimore Sun reports this debate about reforming health care in America.  If only the insurance industry would stop funding critical or opposing views of Barack Obama’s plans to nationalize health care, socialized medicine can finally become the reality a grateful country would welcome.  Really?

When has the Federal Government ever performed any service or operated any program efficiently, effectively and at a low cost?  Other than the military, can anyone name a government program that is done really well?  At the present time Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid represent over $53 trillion in unfunded liabilities, are riddled with fraud and abuse, and are totally unsustainable for our children and grandchildren.  The trust funds ostensibly set aside to pay these benefits have been completely stolen by the Federal Government and the programs have been mismanaged into bankruptcy.  The same can be said for the highway and pension trust funds. Having said that, who in their right mind would want the Federal Government to now take over the health care decisions for themselves and their family?  Why would anyone believe the Federal Government would do a better job managing their health care than they themselves, especially given their ongoing history of handling virtually everything else they’ve tried poorly or worse?

As if to answer my own questions, the President and the democrats in Congress have actually responded to my challenge.  Unbelievable as it may seem,  section 3116 of the draft legislation specifically exempts Members of Congress and others in the government, including the President, from participating in this nationalization attempt?  They specifically took themselves out of having to participate in their own plan.  What exactly does that say about this legislation except that they know the Federal Government could not possibly operate health care well and wouldn’t trust it to take care of themselves and their families.  It’s a fraud.  But it’s okay for us, the great unwashed.

When asked about section 3116 by Charlie Gibson of ABC News, during their recent telecast, the President completely dodged the question and made some statement instead about how he wants his family to have the best care possible, but never acknowledged his exemption.  Well, I also want the best care available, and if the President wants to be exempted than so do I and everyone else should as well.  Including the editors of the Baltimore Sun, no?

My suggestion is that everyone, including the editors of the Baltimore Sun, gather up their children and grandchildren and while looking directly at them, ask yourself whether you want to trust their health and physical and mental well being to the decisions that will be made for them by Federal Government bureaucrats.  That exercise should help everyone arrive at the right answer.

If the Baltimore Sun and others in the liberal media would take a more skeptical look at the plans being proffered, people might be able to better see both sides of this debate and draw better conclusions about what is in their best interests.  Once health care is nationalized and under the control of the Federal Government there will be no going back.
